Lead, Mold and Asbestos Removal

Our on staff building inspector is certified to facilitate safe removal of lead, mold and asbestos. We offer a professional opinion based on the situation.

Lead
Federal law now requires that individuals receive information before renovating six square feet or more of painted surfaces in a room for interior projects or more than twenty square feet of painted surface for exterior projects in housing built before 1978. Federal law also requires contractors that disturb lead-based paint in homes built before 1978 to be certified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. Waldmann Construction is a Certified Lead Safe Company in the state of Wisconsin . (www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/lead/CompanyList/LeadSafeCompany.pdf) For more information on health risks caused by lead, visit www.epa.gov/lead.

Mold
If you discover a problem with mold, our certified mold inspector will identify the source and extent of any molding issues that you have in your home. Finding out where the problem lies is only the tip of the iceberg. The next step is to remove the dangerous fungi. While this may seem like an easy task, careful handling is required when coming in contact with the substance. Your home inspection may also consist of a moisture and leak test, an air quality test, humidity test and drainage test which can take anywhere from a few hours to a half a day to complete. Asbestos
Before a facility containing asbestos can be demolished or undergo certain renovations, the owner or operator of the facility must submit an asbestos abatement notice to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Major repairs must be done only by a professional trained in methods for safely handling asbestos. Minor repairs should also be done by professionals since there is always a risk of exposure to fibers when asbestos is disturbed. Waldmann Construction is proud to have a certified asbestos inspector on staff that is trained in handling asbestos material. For more information on asbestos hazards visit www.epa.gov/asbestos.
